BENZ 1909 Body.
NFS

I have just found an old body which used to be on a 1909 Benz car. Just the body remains. Nothing else. But even the body is in a very poor state. Apparently the vehicle was used till 1935 as a taxi in Inverness. At the moment the remains are under a tree in a garden, wich sure is not the best place so hopefully the owner will follow my advice and move it indoors. So the pictures are not the best. You can still clearly see the landau irons at the rear of the vehicle. It obviously was a convertible body. I can probably find a Benz chassis for it or it could be mounted on a different make chassis. It is amazing how most of the detail survived in nearly 30 years of rain and winter in Inverness. Virtually all the door handles and other little details have survived to some extend. Finally we moved it all. As expected it semi fell apart, but at last it was on the trailor, destinded for a drier home. It now sits in my warehouse and will dry out over the next few months. The body will never be restored, but plans are now in place to copy it and make one fantastic vehicle identical to the original. All the little brass and bone handles, etc will be salvaged and used in the new car. Not a short term project. The last six pictures shows a Benz from the same era with similar features. This last car is in the Catl-Benz museum in Ladenburg near Mannheim, which is the home of the Benz cars. This model is a fixed body saloon, but my vehicle has the rare and more desireable Landaulet body. It is believed to be a type 14/30 PS. Now comes with Engine. Steering box, column and wheel. Front axle and hubs. Radiator. Autovac. Luggage rack. Some lights. Part of gearbox.NFS.

This is a great little truck from 1953. I plan to restore this to its former glory and use it as a little car transporter for shows etc. As far as I can tell the vehicle is almost complete, but I would like to find an original speedo and perhaps a matching trailor. So if anybody knows of anything please contact me. Well, a few years have passed and I do have to admit that this truck got put a bit on the back burner. Forgotten? Never. Just other projects taking time. Anyway, I recently found an original rear body for these long wheel based trucks. Ex French army (NATO), so maintained daily. I think this body was never used, but just painted every year. Took a bit of a gamble if it would fit and be as described. Originally I always though I would make a new rear body, but original is always better. Trial fitted it today and guess what: it fits like a glove. No adjustments necessary, all bolting holes line up perfectly. This truck has come alive. Far from forgotten now.Restoration now started in 2014 and all looking good.NFS.
